VENGRU story
The VENGRU brand was founded by Boglárka Szögi-Csomány and Tamás Faragó in 2017. Our goal is to create practical, high-quality, and unique bags—the kind we ourselves are happy to wear. Initially, we handled every stage of the production process ourselves, cutting the leather and sewing the bags. Today, VENGRU has grown into a micro-enterprise, providing work for Hungarian leather artisans who craft exclusively for VENGRU. Our mission is to create high-quality, timeless pieces of enduring value that respond to our customers' needs while also offering space for their own creativity. The design of our leather bags is instantly recognizable and memorable, defined by an aesthetic rooted in geometric forms.
The products
"V as Vengru, V as variable"
The uniqueness of our bags lies in their high degree of versatility. The straps and handles on every bag are interchangeable and adjustable; you can even attach multiple, different straps to a single bag. By mixing and matching various colors and patterns, you can create truly unique compositions—the only limit is your own creativity.

A paneltáska így egyrészt külön zsebként funkcionál, másrészt megváltozik tőle az alaptáska külleme, ezáltal
pedig új, izgalmas formák és színösszeállítások hozhatók létre. A táskák multifunkcionalitását mutatja, hogy lecsatolva a paneltáska külön is hordható mini hátizsákként, övtáskaként, kis válltáskaként vagy akár pánt nélkül kézitáskaként.
A mára ikonikus, egymással összeilleszthető moduláris bőrtáskáink mellett idővel megjelentek a márka kínálatában a paneltáskákkal nem kombinálható, egyedi formavilágú bőrtáskák „GEM collection„, a vászontáskák „V3 kollekció„, valamint a kiegészítők – övek, pénztárcák, szemüvegtokok, karkötők, kulcstartók, óraszíjak, apró- és fülhallgató-tartók – is. Az alpaka sálak bevezetésével pedig új irányba: a ruházati termékek felé is nyitottunk.

– proclaims our motto; and it is in this spirit that we not only create modular and combinable bags, but also our 3D bag designer—which gives scope to our customers' creativity—operates according to this same principle.
In response to the challenges of climate change, it is important to us that the production of our bags and accessories leaves the smallest possible ecological footprint. To this end, we primarily use natural materials and keep the use of plastic to a minimum. The raw material for our bags and accessories is mainly cowhide—essentially a by-product of beef production.
Unlike synthetic leather, genuine leather does not require a separate manufacturing process; instead of ending up in the trash, it is repurposed into various leather goods, becoming a durable, long-lasting item.
In an effort to reduce waste generated during the production of our bags, we utilize even the smallest scraps of leather to craft small accessories—such as wallets, bracelets, pouches for coins or earphones, and watch straps. Embracing the concept of short supply chains—a topic frequently discussed today—we source our raw materials from within Europe (leather and metal hardware from Italy, textiles from the Czech Republic). Furthermore, all our leather goods are manufactured exclusively in Hungary, providing work for local leathercraft artisans.
The production of leather goods in small batches and the minimization of inventory also point toward more sustainable manufacturing.
Our team
Boglárka Szögi-Csomány and Tamás Faragó graduated from Óbuda University as industrial product and design engineers. Both began their careers at the same wholesale clothing company, where they learned what running a fashion business entails—from design and production all the way to bringing products to market. Armed with the knowledge gained there, they set out to build a brand of their own.
The two designers represent different approaches: while Boglárka—a mother of three—brings a more practical and functional perspective to the design process, Tamás introduces extravagant, artistic, and truly bold forms into the brand’s world.
Our leathercraft experts—who now work exclusively on VENGRU products—bring many years of experience and precise, artisanal craftsmanship to the brand.
